Steven P. Mueller, 67, of Sun Prairie, passed away at home on Monday, December 16, 2024, surrounded by his family after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. He was born on July 13, 1957, in Monroe, the son of Paul Mueller and Karen (Holub) Mueller.

Steve graduated from Monroe High School in 1975 and Madison Area Technical College in 1978 with a degree in Fire Science. He spent his career as a loss control professional with the insurance industry until his retirement in 2014. He was a proud member of the Monroe Fire Department for over 10 years and a member of the Monroe Fire Department Alumni Association. Steve enjoyed traveling, especially cruising. Above all, Steve loved spending time with his family.

Steve is survived by his wife, LeeAnn (“my rock”) of Sun Prairie; daughter, Amanda Mueller of Mesa, AZ with her children Ty, Deril and A’Maya; step-daughters Sarah (Tim) Ellis of Reedsburg, and Amanda (Brian) Miron with their children, Jacob and Tyler, of Appleton; and other grandchildren, Jayden, Sheccid, Lexi, Kayleb, Juan, Abran, and Letisia. Steve is survived by his sisters Pamela (Pat) Molitor of Enid, OK and Rebecca Lehman (Jim Vincent) of Monroe, and sister-in-law, Laurie Millard (Jon Mains), Reedsburg.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents.

A “Celebration of Steve’s Life” will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr, Monroe, WI. Burial will occur at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net.
