BELLEVILLE — Earlier this month, Belleville schools reached out to members of the community to gauge interest in several new initiatives for the local swimming pool. Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive feedback, officials announced the launch of Free Fridays.
“Our goal is to remove financial barriers, provide summer nutrition support, and strengthen the bonds between our students, families, and local organizations,” said Jim Schmitt, District Administrator.
What to Expect on Free Fridays
Beginning on Friday, June 12, residents within the Belleville School District boundaries can enjoy the following benefits:
● Free Admission: The first 150 attendees of any age will receive free entry.
● Free Lunch: School-aged children will receive a complimentary lunch including a sandwich, snack, fruit, and a beverage.
● Season Pass Holders: Current passes remain unaffected, though they are exploring new pass programs for next summer.
“We will continue this program as long as donations allow. If contributions exceed our goals, we hope to expand these benefits to even more days,” Schmitt added.
