Brian “Bing” Thomas Stites, age 56, of Browntown, left us on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Bing was born to Kenneth and Phyllis (Stampfli) Stites on October 21, 1969. He was a Dakota High School graduate of 1987 and an active member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church.
For 40 years, Brian dedicated himself to working for Gary and Nan Folk where he farmed, became a master of his craft in concrete, and lent a hand wherever it was needed.
Bing and the love of his life, Mo, built a life centered around family, love, and simply being there for the people who mattered most. One of Bing’s greatest joys was watching his children, with Mo by his side, participate in activities throughout the years. No matter how long the workday had been, he made every effort to show up. Supporting his family was simply just ‘A Bing Thing.’ He was also a proud member of the “#1 Grandpa Club.” Brian spent endless hours playing whatever the grandchildren wanted to play; they made his world go ’round, as he did theirs. Being ‘Grandpa/Opa Bing’ was a role he treasured deeply.
When Bing wasn’t cheering on Dallas Cowboys football or listening to good music like KISS, his hands were always working and when you needed him he was there. He poured his heart into anything he did, even his famous ‘Bing Breakfast,’ tater tot casserole, deviled eggs, or K Bars he would lovingly make for every family gathering.
Bing is survived by his wife, Mo Stites; his children, Blayke (Wren) Stites, Hamilton Stites, Joe (Jordyn) Van Matre, Harleigh (Bailey) Bodenstein, and Parker (Nicole) Ditzenberger; his beloved grandchildren, Addyson, Edison, Axel, Honna, Clara, Manoa, and Baby B, due at Christmastime; his mother, Phyllis Stites; his siblings, Mark (Mary) Stites, Larry (Angie) Stites, Valerie (John) Kazakos, and Teresa (Steve) Strohecker; his cherished nieces and nephews, Allyson, Kyle, Ryan, Oxtin, Aaliyah, and Dylan; along with great-nieces and great-nephew; and many dear friends.
Bing was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Stites, and his niece, Rosina Poss.
Bing’s life was not defined by grand gestures, but by the countless small ones he made every day and making sure the people he loved never had to wonder whether they were important to him. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Victor’s Catholic Church of Christ the King Parish in Monroe. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 8:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
