To the Editor:

There has been a lot of mis-information spread about the security and accuracy of our voting process and results. Wisconsin has one of the most secure and accurate records, so I would challenge everyone to ignore some of this negative conversation. Your vote matters. Don’t let this keep you from the polls between now and Nov. 3! Our clerks and poll workers in Iowa County are fantastic. They work so hard and have adhered to all the rules, making it safe and secure for all of us. Voting is critical in a democracy. It is our main tool for everyone to express their voice. On this Saturday October 17 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Courthouse in Dodgeville, Indivisible Southwest WI will be hosting an event of fun and providing voting information. You will be able to check your voting registration, learn about what is on the ballot (referendums and amendments), and verify your poll office hours so you can vote early, or on Nov 3. Members of your community are organizing this event for you and I hope you will take advantage of it. There will be fun activities for kids and adults: face painting, juggling, a magician, music, and trivia. And some great speakers. I hope you will come out on Saturday to stand up for our democracy and our values, and leave with your plan to vote! If you need a ride to the polls, there will be people who can help put you in touch with those who would love to help. Our democracy has served us all well for 250 years! Engage in it!
