BELLEVILLE — The Glarner Knights held back the host Wildcats in a rivalry match Sept. 17. New Glarus won in four tight sets 25-14, 25-15, 27-29, 25-23.

“(We) came roaring through the first two sets. However, the pace slowed during set three,” NG coach Kayla Zimmerman said. “The Knights didn’t back down. They fought a slow battle and finally inked the win.”

She said her squad did a nice job of spreading out the offense, using multiple hitters to attack.

Kalia Malaise had seven kills, three aces and 22 assists for New Glarus. Teammate Ellie Brenkman finished with nine kills, nine blocks and 12 digs. Macy Pinnow had seven kills and two aces. Kate Parman tallied nine kills and six blocks. Brynlee Schofield collected seven kills and three aces. Nicole Burton dished out 11 assists with seven digs, and Reese Montgomery added three kills.

Hayden Caskey led Belleville with 20 assists and an ace. Korynn Potter had a team-high 17 digs. Braxtyn Ayers and Anna Alexander each had three blocks. Bryn Prochaska and Carolyn Schoenike tallied seven kills each.

Brodhead 3, Clinton 1

CLINTON — The Cardinals fended off the Cougars on Sept. 17, winning in four sets 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Ella Olson and Chesney Walker each finished with 13 kills to lead Brodhead. Elise Rear had two aces and 15 digs. Leah Rear led the Cardinals with 18 digs. Sadie Woelky and Paige Bauman split setting duties, finishing with 19 and 18 assists each.

Mineral Point 3, Darlington 0

DARLINGTON — The Pointers knocked off the Redbirds on Sept. 17, 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.

Chloe O’Brien led Darlington with seven kills, Cameron Andrews had 11 assists and Chesne Fink tallied three aces.

In other volleyball action from Sept. 17, Albany lost to Barneveld in four sets. Argyle lost to Barneveld in four sets on Sept. 15.
