MONROE - The Monroe Public Library Youth Services Department invites children ages 3 and up to the Puppets & Popcorn production of "Jack and the Beanstalk" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7.
The puppet show will be presented by the MPL Puppet Players in the library's second-floor meeting room. There is no charge, and the fictitious Peter Piper Popcorn Company will provide free popcorn for everyone.
This show opens the 10th season of shows presented by the Puppet Players. The teen puppeteers volunteer their time to bring classic children's stories to the library stage. A special summer season of puppet plays is being planned, and students who will be entering seventh grade or above in the fall, 2011, are welcome to contact the MPL Youth Services Department about joining the summer productions.
The Monroe Public Library is located at 925 16th Ave. The building is handicapped accessible and parking is available in the lot behind the building; or the municipal parking ramp across the street.
