MHS wins first conf. title since ’02
The Monroe Cheesemaker Tennis Team won its first conference championship since 2002.

WHITEWATER — The Monroe Cheesemakers won the Rock Valley Conference boys tennis tournament outright and earned co-conference champions with the East Troy Trojans at UW-Whitewater on Thursday, May 21. It is the Cheesemakers first conference championship in boys tennis since 2002.

The Cheesemakers earned four first place finishes and three third place finishes.

First place finishers were No.1 doubles (Carsen Bartholf and Hamilton Stites), No. 2 doubles (Travis Saunders and Graysan Bartholf), No. 3 doubles (Michael Henning and Elis Salzwedel) and No. 4 singles (Sam Roidt).

Three singles players earned third place: Alex Gerrits (No. 1 singles), Allen Gerrits (No. 2 singles), and Cash McCabe (No. 3 singles).

The final team standings were:

1st) Monroe 26 points

1st) East Troy 26 points

3rd) Watertown Luther Prep 20 points

4th) Delavan-Darien 14 points

5th) Edgerton 12 points

6th) Jefferson 10 points

7th) Big Foot 2 points

7th) Whitewater 2 points
