MONROE — The Monroe Parks & Recreation is now taking registrations for boys’ baseball and girls softball programs.


Boys baseball leagues:

Tee Ball League: This program is for boys currently in 4K and 5K. Program is from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays, June 11 to July 16, at Recreation Park. Deadline to register is Friday, May 10.

Coach Pitch Minor League: This program is for boys currently in first and second. Program is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, June 11 to July 17 (no games July 3) at Recreation Park. Deadline to register is Friday, May 10.

American League: This program is for boys currently in third and fourth grade. Games are Thursdays, May 30 to July 18 (no games July 4) at Monroe and travel out of town. Registration deadline Friday, April 5. 

Mandatory Player Evaluation Date: April 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Twining Park — players will be evaluated to help split teams evenly.

National League: This program is for boys currently in fifth and sixth grade. Games are Mondays and Thursdays, June 3 to July 25, (no games July 1 and July 4) at Monroe and travel out of town. Registration deadline Friday, April 5.

Boys Baseball Clinics: Two baseball clinics are offered at Monroe High School gym for boys currently in third through eighth grades. Players should bring their ball glove with a name on it, water bottle and hat. Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 3. 

Hitting Clinic: Sunday, April 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. 

Fielding and Pitching Clinic: Sunday, April 7 from noon to 2 p.m.

Baseball with the Cheesemakers: Monroe High School players will be there to demonstrate and work on baseball skills. Registration is required. Everyone will receive a Campion’s Champion t-shirt sponsored by PDC. This program is for boys in third through eight grade Monday, May 20, 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the high school ball diamond (rain site: MHS gym). 


Girls softball leagues:

Lassie Tee Ball: This program is for girls currently in 4K and 5K. Program is from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Tuesdays, June 11 to July 16 at Twining East (closest to 14th Ave). Two volunteer coaches per team are needed. Deadline to register is Friday, May 10.

Lassie Coach Pitch: This program is for girls currently in first and second grade. Program is Tuesdays, June 11 to July 16 (optional game at July 4 celebration), 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Twining East (closest to 14th Ave). Two volunteer coaches per team are needed. Deadline to register is Friday, May 10. 

Cadet League: For girls currently in third and fouth grade. Games are on Mondays, June 3 to July 22. Games are in Monroe and travel out of town. Deadline to register is Friday, April 5. 

Junior League: For girls currently in fifth and sixth grade. Games are on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 3 to July 24 (no games on July 3). Games are in Monroe and travel out of town. Deadline to register is Friday, April 5. 

Senior League: For girls currently in seventh and eighth grade. Games are on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 3 to July 24, (no games on July 3). Games are in Monroe and travel out of town. Deadline to register is Friday, April 5. 

Softball with the Cheesemakers: Coach O’Leksy and MHS players will be there to demonstrate and work on softball skills. Registration is required. Everyone will receive a Campion’s Champion t-shirt sponsored by Monroe Kiwanis Foundation. Girls third through eighth grade can register for this program held at 2:30 to 4 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Monroe High School gym.
