The Sugar River Raiders are a perfect 7-0 after defeating the Mount Horeb Vikings, 2-0 in non-conference high school soccer at Belleville on April 17. The Raiders got a goal in the first half and a goal in the second half to come away with the win. In the first half, sophomore Nikole Schultz found the net at 21:22 and scored with an assist by junior Kennedi Esser to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. In the second half, sophomore Kate Parman scored at 63:17 with the assist going to senior Anya Brenkman to widen the lead and give the Raiders a 2-0 lead. Senior goaltender Mackenzie Ohms had six saves and junior goaltender Savanna Minter had one save to preserve the shutout for the Raiders. Sugar River remains undefeated after seven matches and is ranked #8 in Division 3. The Raiders face Dodgeville-Mineral Point at Dodgeville on April 22.
Elsewhere, Monroe lost on the road at Big Foot-Williams Bay 7-0 on April 17 in a Rock Valley Conference tilt. The Cheesemakers are winless in five tries this season, and are scheduled to face Jefferson (April 21) and Beloit Memorial (April 24) this week.
