Lynette “Annie” Komprood, age 85, of Monticello, died on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the New Glarus Home. Annie was born on October 15, 1939 in Monroe, the daughter of Lewis and Ruth (Klingbeil) Knudson. She was a 1958 graduate of Brodhead High School. Annie was united in marriage to Leonard R. Komprood on February 27, 1971 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe. She farmed with her husband for many years in Washington Township. She was employed with the Green County Highway Dept., Swiss Colony, and most recently with Chalet Cheese until retiring in 2009.

Annie was a long time member of Washington Reformation United Church of Christ, Monticello, where she was active in the choir and helped with many funeral luncheons. She served as Washington Township Treasurer for many years, volunteered as an election poll worker, and was a member of the former Eagle’s Club in Monroe. Over the years she and Leonard enjoyed trips to Minocqua and the Briggsville Campground. She also liked an occasional trip to the casino and entering NASCAR pools. Annie cherished the time she spent with family and friends.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Leonard, of Monticello; son, Kevin Komprood (fiancée, Courtney); two grandchildren, Cassidy and Benjamin Komprood; and Courtney’s children, Cory, Rylee, and Ryder. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Shirley Knudson; step-sister, Betty Cowell; brothers-in-law, Paul (Cheryl) Komprood, Harry (Joyce) Komprood; sister-in-law, Karen Komprood; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Florence Knudson; brother, Paul Knudson; sister, Edith (Don) Day; father and mother-in-law, Lester and Hazel Komprood; brother-in-law, Richard Komprood; and sisters-in-law, Betty and Amanda Komprood;

A celebration of Annie’s life will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Washington Church with Rev. Kelly Volk officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 10, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Annie’s name to Monticello Fire Department or Washington Church. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
