Larry D Kloepping, Sr passed away Monday November 27, 2023 while holding hands with his wife, Joan, of 64 years.  His last few days were spent at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in the hospice care facility. Larry was given a fallen veteran farewell at the VA upon his passing.

Larry was born on May 26, 1934 on the family farm in Juda, WI to Dale and Christine (Rodenbough) Kloepping.  He attended Oakley School before eventually graduating from Dakota High School in 1953.  He joined the Army in 1954 and was in the 41st ENG battalion that was stationed in Kitzingen Germany.  He had many memories and pictures of traveling around Europe that he loved to share. 

Larry and Joan Grace Brunner were married on December 19, 1959 at the Zion United Methodist Church in Juda, WI.   Larry farmed and worked as a Spring Grove Township Patrolman for many years before eventually moving to Monroe, WI. During the spring and summer Larry could be found with a fishing pole, or baiting hooks for his children. In early spring, he was found in the woods making Maple Syrup with his family, a tradition started by his grandfather, and carried on today. Larry was a lifelong member of the fraternal order of freemasonry and made many friends during the numerous events he attended. 

Larry is survived by his wife Joan, his siblings, Carol Silva of Auburn, CA, Jolene (Armin) Brudi of Rock Grove, Il and Dr. Kent Kloepping of Tucson, AZ; four children, Jayne Kloepping, Monroe, WI, Larry (Mary) Kloepping of Juda, WI, Doug (Tricia) Kloepping of Evansville, WI, Dan (Linda Larson) Kloepping of Middleton, WI.  Grandchildren, Sarah (Brendan) Lewandowski, Alex, Sam, Max, Tate, Owen, Lara, and Isabelle. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Christine; a brother in-law Frank Silva; and sister-in-law, Marlys Kloepping.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by a masonic service at 11:30 a.m. Memorials in Larry’s name are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children. Larry will be missed, but memories of his handlebar mustache, smile larger than life, and deep belly laugh will carry on forever.
