Schiess honored with BEE Award
Michele Schiess, Director of Acute Care and Emergency Services at SSM Health Monroe Hospital, was surprised with the BEE Award on May 7.

MONROE — SSM Health Monroe Hospital leader Michele Schiess was recently surprised with the Being Exceptional Every Day (BEE) Award in recognition of the exceptional guidance and compassion she demonstrates for patients and teams.

“Our teams experienced a situation that resulted in a very difficult loss,” her nominator shared. “Michele remained in the Emergency Room by our side well after everything had ended. Family members were grieving, and she did everything she could to support their needs and offer comfort to everyone impacted. Michele deserves to be recognized for the hours she spent assisting in whatever way was needed. That is what a true hero and leader looks like.”

The BEE Award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond while fostering a culture of excellence at SSM Health. Congratulations to Michele on this well-deserved honor and thank you for your unwavering support of our caregivers and community every day.
