Dean B. Stejskal
Dean B. Stejskal

After a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, Dean B. Stejskal, age 60, passed
away on January 26, 2025, at SSM St Mary’s Care Center in Madison, WI. He was born on
August 9, 1964, at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Dorothy
Stejskal.

Dean grew up in Orangeville, IL, and graduated from Orangeville High School in 1982. He
worked for many years at Advance Transformer before continuing his career at Sub-Zero. A
natural mechanic and storyteller, Dean had a passion for wrenching on cars and riding
Harley Davidson motorcycles. He especially enjoyed his pro-fuel Harley and spending time
with friends in his beloved Leinie Lodge. He was known for his humor, his adventurous
spirit, and his numerous signature phrases like, “I’ll buy if you fly”, or his often proclaimed,
"Wow! What a deal!" He never met a stranger that didn’t become his buddy.

In 2011, Dean was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune
disease that gradually took away his physical independence but never his spirit. Despite
the challenges, he navigated life with resilience, determination, and his trademark sense of
humor. He found creative ways to continue enjoying the things he loved, whether it was
sharing stories of his adventures, keeping up with his passion for motorcycles, or simply
being in the company of good friends and family.

For many years, Dean lived in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he enjoyed the beauty of
nature, the open roads, and the peace of the outdoors. While he cherished his time up
north, he was thrilled to move closer to loved ones, especially to spend more time with his
beloved granddaughter, Marlie. She was the light of his life, and he cherished every
moment he was able to spend with her.

Dean is survived by his mother, Dorothy; stepfather, Lester; his sister, Donna Stejskal of
Oxford, WI; his daughter, Stephanie (Brandon) Frontz of Waunakee, WI; his granddaughter,
Marlie; the mother of Stephanie, Tammie Smiley, and many more longtime friends. He was
preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and his grandparents.

Per his wishes, no services will be held. A celebration of Dean’s life will be held on
Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Leisure Lanes, 2308 6th Ave,
Monroe, WI.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with the National MS Society in his
honor. https://donate.nationalmssociety.org/campaign/dstejskal

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at SSM St. Mary's Care Center
