MONROE — On April 21, Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley released the name of the person found dead alongside a creek in the city’s west business district last weekend.
“Police and the Green County Coroner have now been able to identify the person as Jeffrey C. Miller Jr. (31), of the Monroe area,” Kelley said in a statement. “Mr. Miller as of late has not had a permanent address and has been the subject of a missing person search.”
At about 4:12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, Monroe Police were called to the area of the 600 block of Wis. 69, for a report of a possible deceased person being found next to a creek.
An autopsy was conducted on April 20.
“There are still components of that procedure being worked on, so at this point no cause of the man’s death nor the circumstances as to how he came to be where he was found have been determined,” Kelley added.
The case remains under investigation.
