DARLINGTON — The 175th Celebration of Darlington will take place on Saturday, July 27.
A pancake breakfast, hosted by the Darlington Fire Department, kicks things off from 7-10 a.m. A craft and vendor fair along the walking trail will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At 9 a.m. there will be a 1 mile/5K run/walk at the Pecatonica River Trails Park, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Preregister online at bit.ly/175-runwalk.
The Lafayette County Historical and Genealogy Society will give wagon tours between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with pick-up at the Railroad Depot approximately every 45 minutes. Self-guided tours will be available all day on Main Street.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be an open house at the Railroad Depot and Caboose, as well as Climb in the Cab at the Festival Grounds.
Food Trucks are available from noon to 10 p.m. at the Festival Grounds. The beer tent will be open from noon to 4 p.m., with Music by Sophie taking place from 1-4 p.m.
The 175th Celebration Program at the Festival Grounds will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m.
There will be free inflatables for children to play on from noon to 4 p.m. at the Festival Grounds.
The Street Dance will take place from 5 p.m. to midnight, with LFD DJ at the helm from 5-7:45 p.m., followed by feature act Time Machine, a band based out of Minnesota, taking the stage at 8 p.m. There is a $5 cover for the Street Dance, with gates opening at 5 p.m.
The event is put on by the Darlington Chamber/Main Street. More than 60 business, organizations and individuals donated or sponsored money to put on the event.
