Rose M. Schmidt, 86, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 22, 1930 the daughter of William and Naomi (Cecil) Walters in Monroe. Rose was united in marriage to Albert Roy Schmidt on February 12, 1950.
Rose was a Medical Transcriptionist at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe, now Monroe Clinic Hospital, for many years. She was a long time member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Barbara Ann Schmidt-French, Debra Jean Schmidt, and Karla May Schmidt; sisters, Mary Ann "Misty" Isely and Beverly Jean (Raul) Rivera; as well as one grandchild, Shane Bradley French and one great-grandchild, Harley Ray Donovan French. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert, and brother, William H. Walters, Jr.
Private graveside services were held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Tiff Bates officiating. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
