Ronald E. Houseweart age 61 of Monroe, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, with his wife holding his hand. He was born September 18, 1952 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Jack and Florence (Strang) Houseweart. Ron was a drifter in his younger years, traveling with various carnivals. He moved to Monroe in 1985 where he met the love of his life, Maryann Huber. They were married September 14, 1991 in Martintown, WI. Ron worked as a tree cutter and had worked part-time for his father-in-law, Charlie Huber, at the Sharp-It-Shop. He was known as Uncle Ron to all the neighborhood kids, fixing many bicycles over the years. He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, campfires and the occasional small engine and computer repair. After many years of struggling, Ron demonstrated great courage as he remained sober for the past eleven years.

Ron is survived by his wife Maryann Houseweart of Monroe; two daughters Rachel and Melissa; his mother, Florence "Fran" McLoud, brothers and sisters Scott, Robert (Julie), Dan, LaVerna, Doug (Heather), Mark, David (Kim). Stepmother, Lanita; brothers and sisters Mike, Michelle, Patrick, Jackie (Rob), and Raymond; many nieces and nephews; and other family members, Phyllis McLoud and Wally Kleineschay. Ron was close with his in-laws. Mother-in-law Lucy Huber; brothers-in-law Carl (Lisa) and Robert (Nancy) and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Houseweart; stepfather Merle McLoud; sister, Melody and father-in-law, Charlie Huber.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at noon with visitation at 11:00 until time of service at Grace Lutheran Church 1025-15th Avenue Monroe, with Rev. John Tabaka officiating.
