Jess R. Hager, age 20 of Monroe, died on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at his home, as the result of a severe asthma attack. He was born on April 19, 1995, the son of Richard and Shan (Humbel) Hager. He was a 2013 graduate of Monroe High School.

Jess was always a giving and charismatic person, being very close to all of his friends. He was a people person, clever, witty, funny and very sharp. He always lived his life to the fullest, camping and fishing trips, when and wherever. He loved the spontaneity in life and found opportunities to seek new adventures whenever he'd find them. Growing up in a hockey family he of course was a player himself. He loved it for as long as he could but found tennis to be his true athletic passion. He and his brother would play almost daily during the warm summer months and spent some of their closest and fondest memories on a tennis court. Even though he found other life endeavors after high school he always hinted that he missed tennis dearly. Shortly after graduating high school he found out the severity of his mother's cancer diagnosis. Like a great son he took very good care of her till the end.

He is survived by his dad, Rich; brother, Dan; aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents and mom, Shan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

A memorial fund is being established in Jess's memory.
