Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of May 17-23, police performed 35 security checks, 30 citizen assists, 10 assists of other agencies, 17 follow-ups to incidents, 15 vehicle registrations and six traffic stops; responded to 25 calls for service and reported 10 EMS calls, 13 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and no fire calls. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On May 19:

●  A fraudulent check was reported at 5:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of 21st Street.

On May 21:

●  A code violation involving pumped water from a basement flooding the street corner was reported at 1:22 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 6th Avenue. The hose was relocated.

●  A dog at large was reported at 1:52 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue. Police were unable to locate the dog.

On May 22:

●  An Albany man, 31, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 12:17 p.m. in the 900 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 4 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. The driver was contacted and returned to pay for the fuel.

●  Illegal burning was reported at 5:16 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police observed no violation.

On May 23:

●  A Brodhead woman, 27, was cited for parking left of center facing traffic at 10:03 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 5th Avenue.

●  A Monroe woman, 24, was cited for parking left of center facing traffic at 10:32 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 5th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 27, was cited for parking left of center facing traffic at 10:37 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 5th Avenue.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Joshua S. Johnson, 38, Darlington, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and resisting or obstructing an officer at 2:47 p.m. May 22 following a complaint on West Alice Street. He remained jailed on a Department of Corrections hold.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Alton L. Bellows, 37, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and felony strangulation and suffocation after officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 2:54 a.m. May 22 at a residence in the 1500 block of 16th Street. Bellows was also arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping, for violating bond conditions in a pending case that prohibit alcohol consumption. He was jailed pending court. His signature bond was set the same day at $5,000, with conditions not to drink or go into bars or liquor stores.

●  After a stopped vehicle was observed in an intersection impeding other lanes of traffic, officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 2100 block of Wis. 69 at 12:03 a.m. May 23. Investigation led to the arrest of Keaton T. Korosec, 25, Freeport, on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. He was booked, then released to a responsible person pending court.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Dustin R. Strait, 32, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 4:41 p.m. May 22 after deputies responded for a domestic abuse incident in the N2000 block of Alphorn Road, Town of Clarno. He was jailed pending court.

On May 24:

●  Steven M. K. Futch, 26, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated after deputies responded at 2:28 a.m. to the N3600 block of Wis. 69, Town of Monroe, for a report of a vehicle parked completely in the southbound lane with the driver passed out in the driver’s seat. He was later released pending court.

●  Tanya M. Wurtzbacher, 34, Albany, was arrested on domestic abuse-related charges of disorderly conduct and battery after deputies and Albany EMS responded at 5:40 a.m. to the 200 block of North 5th Avenue in Albany for a report of a physical altercation. She was later released pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On May 21:

●  A civil dispute was reported at 11:28 a.m. on Lake Joy Lane, Town of Belmont.

●  Aaron T. Robinson, 46, Milwaukee, was cited for driving with suspended license at 12:51 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to assist with unlocking a vehicle at 4:24 p.m. on North Judgement Street in Shullsburg.
