Behavioral Health and Wellness Fair Offers Family Fun on May 2

JANESVILLE — Take a step toward wellness on May 2 at Blackhawk Technical College’s Beloit-Janesville Campus at 6004 S. County Road G, Janesville, WI 53546. A free, family-friendly Behavioral Health and Wellness Fair, held in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fair will feature a wide range of wellness services and mental health resources along with engaging activities for all ages. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, bounce houses, a live DJ and free self-care services, including haircuts, manicures, facials, massages and more.

Those attending will also have the opportunity to connect with more than 30 community agencies, explore internship and career pathways, and discover local programs that support mental, emotional and physical well-being.

“This is a day dedicated to your well-being, making connections, and discovering community support,” Substance Abuse Counselor Instructor Carissa Johnson said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about practical tools, engage in hands-on activities and prioritize your mental, emotional and physical health — all while enjoying a fun, welcoming environment for the whole family.”

The event will also include panel discussions and breakout sessions led by local professionals who will share insights into current trends in behavioral health and efforts underway to support the community. Free informational sessions will cover topics such as yoga, guided meditation, coping strategies for anxiety, supporting family members living with dementia, activities for children and more.
