MONTICELLO — Heidi Olson hit a double and drove in four runs to lead Monticello-New Glarus to an 11-1 win in five innings over Benton-Shullsburg in Six Rivers Conference action on Friday, April 24.

Benton-Shullsburg scored first on a RBI groundout in the second inning, but Malorie Miller shut down Benton-Shullsburg the rest of the way. Miller gave up five hits and five walks along with five strikeouts to earn the win for the ponies. Center fielder Eliza Legris scored three runs for Monticello-New Glarus and catcher Annie Olson walked three times and scored two runs.

Monticello-New Glarus is now 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Six Rivers Conference. MNG was scheduled to face Highland on the road on Monday, April 27 and travel to Juda-Albany on Tuesday, April 28 in back-to-back Six Rivers games.

Monticello-New Glarus 18, River Ridge 0

Malorie Miller got four hits, including a home run and Heidi Olson hit a home run and drove in five to lead Monticello-Albany to an 18-0 pounding of the River Ridge Timberwolves in five innings in a Six Rivers game on Thursday, April 23.

Heidi Olson also threw a one-hit shutout while Annie Olson and Molly Olson each hit a triple.

Juda-Albany 8, Barneveld 0

Ryleigh Brown fired a one-hit shutout to lead Jubany to an 8-0 win in Six Rivers Conference action over the Barneveld Eagles on Thursday, April 23.

Anna Bartels had three RBIs and Emerson Briggs and Phoenix Homan each drove in two runs for Jubany. The Panthers had a 5-0 lead by the second inning.

Juda-Albany improves to 6-2-1 with the win.

Highland 6, Juda-Albany 5

Jubany’s two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning fell short as the Panthers lost to the Highland Cardinals 6-5 on Friday, April 24.

Anna Bartels hit a two-run homer and a double and drove in three runs for Juda-Albany. Emersen Butts, Olivia Brooks, and Emerson Briggs each went 2x3 for Jubany. Briggs took the loss after pitching 5.2 innings and walked two and struck out eight.

Jubany (6-3-1, 4-3) played at Argyle-Black Hawk in a game scheduled on Monday, April 27 and at home against Monticello-New Glarus scheduled on Tuesday, April 28 in back-to-back Six Rivers Conference games.

Belleville 11, Darlington 3

Ava Chapman went 3x4 with an RBI and a run scored and Korynn Potter drove in two runs while Bryn Prochaska hit a double and scored two runs as Belleville rolled past Darlington 11-3 in nonconference softball on Friday, April 24.

Brynlee Shirley pitched five innings and allowed just one earned one with two walks and three strikeouts.

Ali Wineland, Sydney Wiegel, and Chloe O’Brien each had an RBI for the Redbirds.

With the win, Belleville improved to 3-8 overall. The Wildcats had a Capitol South Conference game scheduled on Tuesday, April 28.

Darlington fell to 2-8 overall with a SWAL conference game scheduled on Tuesday, April 28 at Southwestern.

Cuba City 11, Darlington 1

The Cuba City Cubans got five runs in the first two innings, then scored five runs in the fifth inning to take an 11-1 win over the Darlington Redbirds in five innings on Thursday, April 23.

The Redbirds got their lone run in the first inning when Lilly Ritchie led off the game with a double, Maicy Norgard singled, and Ranie Norgard got an RBI single.

With the loss, Darlington fell to 2-8.

Argyle-Black Hawk 20, Belleville 9

The Orioles scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to turn an 8-7 lead into a double-digit lead and beat the Belleville Wildcats 20-9 in nonconference action on Thursday, April 23.

Brianna Wilhelmson drove in three runs and Brinley Meinert and Adrionna Ubersox each had two RBIs to lead the Orioles to a season-high 20 runs.

Korynn Potter went 3x4 with RBIs to pace the Wildcats.

Argyle-Black Hawk 4, River Ridge 3

Starting pitcher Brynn Harris fanned 12 batters and catcher Sam Kammes drove in a pair of runs to help the Argyle-Black Hawk Orioles get a 4-3 win over the River Ridge Timberwolves in Six Rivers Conference softball on Friday, April 24.

Brianna Wilhelmson, Kylie Butler, and Claire Holmes each scored a run as the Orioles withstood a two-run rally by the Timberwolves in the seventh inning for the win.

Argyle-Black Hawk (5-8, (3-4 Six Rivers) was to host Juda-Albany on Monday, April 27 and travel to Barneveld on Tuesday, April 28 for a pair of Six Rivers Conference games.

Turner 10, Brodhead 0

The Brodhead Cardinals were shut down on just two hits by the Turner Trojans 10-0 in five innings on Friday, April 24 in Rock Valley Conference, Rock Division action.

The Trojans scored five runs in the third inning and followed that up with a home run by Jayla Jackson in the fourth inning for a 6-0 lead.

Sadie Woelky and Karli Krumwiede got the only hits of the game for the Cardinals.

Brodhead dropped to 6-2-1 overall, 4-2 in the RVC-Rock with the loss. The Cardinals had back-to-back conference games scheduled with Edgerton on Monday, April 27 and at home against Monroe in an RVC crossover game on Tuesday, April 28.

Belmont 9, Pecatonica 3

The Belmont Braves went on the road to beat the Pecatonica Vikings 9-3 in Six Rivers Conference softball on Friday, April 24.

It was the third straight loss for the Vikings. Pecatonica (2-8, 1-5) played two Six Rivers games on the road with Benton-Shullsburg scheduled on Monday, April 27 and Highland scheduled on Tuesday, April 28.
