NEW GLARUS — Students from the New Glarus High School HOSA (Future Health Professionals) chapter demonstrated outstanding achievement at the recent HOSA State Leadership Conference, with multiple teams earning top honors and advancing to national competition.
Among the highlights, the New Glarus HOSA Bowl team, comprised of Matt Roth, Grady Johnson, Tikeh Tazeh, and Ethan Seffrood, delivered an exceptional performance. After qualifying as one of the top 15 teams in the state at regional competition, the team advanced to the state level and earned an impressive third-place finish. Their success qualifies them for the HOSA International Leadership Conference, which will take place this June in Indianapolis, Indiana. The HOSA Bowl is a fast-paced, bracket-style academic competition that tests students’ knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare history.
In addition, the CPR/First Aid team of June Endicott and Cloe Brown also qualified for state competition, ranking among the top 15 teams in Wisconsin. Their accomplishment reflects strong technical skills and preparedness in critical, real-world health scenarios.
New Glarus was also represented in the highly competitive Anatomage event, which utilizes advanced 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection technology. Two teams competed at the state level: Team 1 included Gracie Atkinson, June Endicott, and Cloe Brown, while Team 2 featured Matt Roth, Grady Johnson, Tikeh Tazeh, and Ethan Seffrood. Students collaborated to accurately identify and analyze anatomical structures using cutting-edge medical tools.
Earlier in the year, New Glarus HOSA students competed in regional events held in two rounds during December and January. Regional participants included:
● Ella Dittberner – Nursing Assisting
● Landon Marty – Job Seeking Skills
● Tikeh Tazeh, Matt Roth, Grady Johnson, Ethan Seffrood – HOSA Bowl
● Kaia Morrison, Marie Besley, Emma Funk – Mental Health Promotion
● Cloe Brown, June Endicott – CPR/First Aid
● Gracie Atkinson – Medical Terminology
● Jordan Oehlhof, Abby Ryan – CPR/First Aid
● James Maricque – Pathophysiology

The strong showing at both regional and state levels highlights the dedication, preparation, and passion of New Glarus students pursuing careers in healthcare.
The New Glarus High School HOSA chapter continues to provide students with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore healthcare professions, and compete at a high level. The school community congratulates all participants and wishes the HOSA Bowl team the best of luck as they represent New Glarus on the national stage this summer.
