NEW GLARUS — The New Glarus Glarner Knights hosted the Capitol Conference Mini-Meet #2 on Monday, April 20 at Edelweiss Golf Course, finishing fourth out of nine teams with a 171 against a par-36 front nine.

Senior Isaac Ingwell led the Knights with a 41, with pars on holes 4, 6, 7, and 8 with no score worse than bogey anywhere on his card. Sophomore Kellen Martinson carded a 43 with pars on holes 1, 3, 4, and 7. Junior Kofi Belknap also shot 43, posting pars on holes 2, 3, 6, and 7. Senior Grady Johnson stepped in on short notice after a teammate wasn’t able to compete last minute and posted a 44 with pars on holes 7 and 8.

“He was called up with less than 45 minutes to tee time and played very well, especially considering the rushed prep,” said New Glarus coach Jonathan Goodness.

Freshman Braden Goodness showed genuine fight in his round with a birdie on hole 3, and pars on holes 4 and 5.

“His ability to reset and compete after adversity is a real positive to build on,” said Coach Goodness.

As a team, Coach Goodness said that the Glarner Knights did very well on the par-3 seventh hole with four players making par.
