Grow stronger and prevent falls this spring with ‘Stepping On’ Workshop
Grow stronger and prevent falls this spring with ‘Stepping On’ Workshop

MONTICELLO — As spring encourages more outdoor activity, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is inviting older adults to build strength, improve balance, and boost confidence through its upcoming Stepping On workshop.

Stepping On is an evidence-based falls prevention program designed to help participants stay active and independent. With gardening, walking, and other seasonal activities increasing the risk of falls, the workshop provides practical tools to move safely and confidently in everyday life.

Falls are common but not an inevitable part of aging. This interactive, small-group program teaches simple balance and strength exercises, home safety strategies, and ways to reduce fall risks related to vision, medications, and footwear. Participants also benefit from expert insights and peer support.

The seven-week workshop helps attendees:

● Improve balance and strength

● Identify and reduce fall hazards at home and in the community

● Learn how health factors impact fall risk

● Gain confidence in daily activities

● And much more

This spring, take a proactive step toward better balance, greater strength, and lasting independence with Stepping On.

Workshop Details:

● Tuesdays, May 12 – June 23

● 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

● Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello

● Suggested donation: $15

Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Participation is open to everyone — there are no residency requirements, and you do not need to be a member of Zwingli UCC to join.
