Police Blotter

On May 25:

● 6:16 p.m. Richard A Schuchart, 70, Hazel Green was traveling in his 2022 Chevrolet on N Bean ST, Village of Benton when he failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle operated by Jerry D. Jensen, 68, Bradenton FL. Jensen was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Schuchart was arrested of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI 1st Offense) - Causing Bodily Injury. Schuchart was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released to a responsible party. Schuchart was also cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Benton Fire, Benton First Response, Hazel Green EMS, Lafayette County EMS and a deputy assisted. 

● 8:07 p.m. Mark A. Boelk, 50, South Wayne was traveling on CTH W, New Diggings Township in his UTV when he left the roadway, struck a tree and a well endcap where he was ejected from the machine. Boelk reported no injuries. Boelk was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI — 1st Offense). Boelk was transported to Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office where he was released to a responsible party. Benton Fire, Benton First Response, Hazel Green EMS, Lafayette County EMS and a deputy assisted. 

On May 26:

● 5:08 a.m. A deputy responded to W Main ST, Village of Benton for suspicious circumstances.

● 4:44 p.m. A deputy responded to Riverbend RD, Wayne Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 7:50 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, New Diggings Township for a civil dispute. 

● 9:17 p.m. Amber K Aguilar-Guevara, 35, Darlington reported striking a deer on County Shop RD, Darlington Township. No injuries reported. Aguilar-Guevara’s 2015 Dodge received functional damage and was driven from the scene.

On May 27:

● 5:47 a.m. Wiota First and Fire and Argyle EMS responded to Walnut RD, Wiota Township for a one vehicle accident. Santos F Soto-Alvarez, 45, Freeport, IL was traveling on Walnut RD in a 2002 Ford when he went off the roadway and over corrected, causing his vehicle to travel into the ditch and roll onto its side. Soto-Alvarez denied EMS and his vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage. Soto-Alvarez was arrested for a valid Lafayette County warrant and brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later posted bond. Soto-Alvarez was also cited for Operating after Suspension, Failure to Keep Vehicle under Control, and No Insurance.

● 3:42 p.m. A deputy responded to Lake RD, Fayette Township for suspicious activity.

● 4:53 p.m. A deputy responded to N State ST in the Village of Argyle for harassment.

● 6:06 p.m. Deputies responded to S Mound AV in the Village of Belmont for a scam.

● 8:08 p.m. Gladys B Romero, 50, Mount Horeb reported striking a deer on USH 151, Belmont Township. No injuries were reported and Romero’s 2018 Chevrolet received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

On May 28:

● 1:35 p.m. A deputy responded to Pine ST in the Village of Blanchardville for fraud.

● 9:11 p.m. Eric M Kudrna, 55, Argyle reported striking a deer on CTH A, Argyle Township. No injuries were reported and Kudrna’s 2018 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 9:31 p.m. Deputies responded to Highland ST in the Village of Argyle for a domestic dispute. Steven M Zimmerman, 33 and Stacey C McGuire, 44, both of Argyle were arrested for Domestic Battery and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. Both subjects were brought to the Lafayette County Jail where they were booked and later posted bond.

● 9:32 p.m. Eric T Fuss, 53, Morgantown, WV reported striking a deer on STH 78, Gratiot Township. No injuries were reported and the 2022 Chevrolet Fuss was operating was towed from the scene with disabling damage.

On May 29:

● 4:26 a.m. A deputy responded to E high ST, Village of South Wayne for a vehicle theft.

1:14 p.m. Abigail Arellano-Flores, 54, Darlington was traveling on CTH F, Darlington Township when she struck a Lafayette County Highway Department Grader. Arellano-Flores and her juvenile passenger were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Arellano-Flores’ 2012 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Darlington Fire, Lafayette County EMS, Darlington Police, and a deputy assisted. 

● 9:44 p.m. Deputies responded to S Holland RD, Gratiot Township for suspicious activity.

On May 30:

● 10:57 a.m. A deputy responded to Field Drive RD, Elk Grove Township for harassment.

● 3:02 p.m. Deputies responded to W Hill ST, Village of Blanchardville for a domestic dispute. Argyle Police assisted.

● 7:04 p.m. Jose O. Morales-Laureano, 29, Platteville was arrested on STH 81, Darlington Township for Operating after Revocation, Operating While Intoxicated (3rd Offense — With a Passenger ≤ 16 y/o), Failure to Install IID, and Bail Jumping. Morales-Laureano was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains. Morales-Laureano was also cited for Following too Closely, Operating without Insurance, Lane Deviation, and Violation of Child Safety Restraint Under 4 y/o. Darlington Police and Lafayette County EMS assisted.

● 7:10 p.m. A deputy responded to 1st AV, Village of Benton for harassment.

On May 31:

● 12:47 a.m. Jordan L Woodworth, 42, Mesa, AZ was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated on STH 11 in the City of Shullsburg.  Woodworth was released to a responsible party.

● 4:40 a.m. Deputies responded to Pickanax ST in the City of Shullsburg for suspicious activity.

● 5:41 a.m. A deputy responded to W Liberty ST in the Village of Belmont for theft.

● 7:48 a.m. A deputy responded to Market ST in the Village of Belmont for theft.

● 10:13 a.m. A deputy responded to Hancock LN, White Oak Springs Township for suspicious activity.
