What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve it?

Updating Brodhead Comprehensive plan: Provides strategic plan for city to move into the future. Used as a marketing tool for future growth. Working with Southwest Regional Planning, Green County Development, Brodhead City Government, Civic organizations and residents

Maintaining and enhancing city services while following budget guidelines: Working with city department heads and financial committee for short and long range goals and objectives

Meeting requirements for phosphorous removal plan for treatment plant: Working with city engineer, DNR, and county agencies

Studying the need for new Senior Citizen center and community center to accommodate large meetings, gatherings, celebrations, education, etc.: Working with city committee, city government, UW extension, Green County Development



What are other key issues facing the district/municipality, and how would you work to resolve them?

Attracting new business: Have land available and TIF districts in place

Maintain viable downtown business district: Offer some financial assistance through BID and TIF programs for building improvements

Tourism: Continue work on Pearl Island Corridor to attract visitors to enjoy nature, hiking, canoeing, camping etc. Promote Sugar River Bike trail. Working on connecting ATV trail from Monroe to Brodhead

Overall goal is to continue to make Brodhead a great place to visit, eat, shop, work, and live
