MONROE - Monroe United Methodist Church will sponsor a trip to the limited run of "The Witnesses" on Saturday, July 20 at the Fireside Dinner Theatre in Fort Atkinson.
The cost is $44.95, which includes a gourmet meal and tickets to the 1:30 p.m. matinee performance.
The play, told through the eyes of Peter and Paul, follows an adventure that began in Jerusalem where a small group of disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit traveled across the Roman Empire, preaching, teaching and healing. "The Witnesses" features talented singers and musicians playing acoustic and percussion instruments - from guitars, accordions and cello to African and Irish drums.
A carpool will leave from the church, 2227 4th St., Monroe, at 9 a.m., arriving at the theater by 10:30 a.m. When ordering tickets through the church, those who attend should indicate if they are willing to drive or would prefer ride. A return time to Monroe is expect about 4:30 p.m.
