ALBANY - Over the Rainbow Child Find Screening will be from 1 to 6 p.m., Thursday, March 3 and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 4.

Over the Rainbow Child Find Screening is for all families that reside in the Albany School District and who have a child not yet attending a public school program.

The screening gives parents and families a present level of their child's development in comparison to average developmental criteria; a chance to learn about typical growth of young children; a free vision and hearing screening; and a chance to get answers to health-related questions, as well as identifying a potential developmental delay so appropriate interventions can begin. The screening also gives families a chance to see the 4K classrooms where their child would attend.

Children will participate in a play-based assessment while interacting with school personnel who will observe such things as: Communication, early learning skills, coordination and social skills.

After the process, families will have a chance to meet with those involved to discuss findings. The screening takes approximately one hour.

To sign up for Child Find, call the Albany School at (608) 862-3225 to schedule a time.
