To the editor:
The Marklein campaign recently left literature at homes in Monroe that said we need to "get government out of the way" to create jobs for Wisconsin families.
Well, if that's what he says he believes, let's take a peek at his voting record. He voted to allow companies to defraud Wisconsin taxpayers by taking tax money but without guarantees to provide any jobs, and to allow companies who ship jobs out of the state to get tax breaks. He also voted against giving preferences to Wisconsin businesses and jobs in government procurement. No wonder Wisconsin is dead last nationally in job growth.
Instead of getting government out of the way, he and his Republican cohorts spent their time using government to set and push a radical conservative social agenda instead of focusing on real job growth. In doing so, he voted the Republican party line 99 percent of the time.
I am casting a ballot for Maureen May-Grimm, who will put people ahead of special interests and politics in Wisconsin.
