MONTICELLO - Senior Megan Lehr went 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Monticello softball team to a 9-3 win over Pecatonica on Tuesday.
Lehr had a two-out, three-run triple in a five-run second inning to help the Ponies take a 6-0 lead.
"Megan Lehr broke out of her slump," Monticello coach Duane Garrison said. "That two-out, three-run triple ignited us for five runs that inning. Our two through five hitters were 7-for-14."
Monticello improves to 2-10 overall and 2-7 in the Six Rivers East.
Monticello sophomore Claire Klossner went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, and senior Jessie Garrison was 2-for-3 with a double.
Garrison pitched 21⁄3 innings and gave up three unearned runs on one hit to get the win. She walked two and didn't record a strikeout.
Freshman Miah Brokopp pitched 42⁄3 shutout innings in relief. She gave up three hits, struck out two and walked one.
Pecatonica junior Ninah McKeon went 2-for-4 with a double.
McKeon also pitched six innings and gave up nine runs on eight hits. She struck out three and walked six.
Brodhead 3, Parkview 1
ORFORDVILLE - Katie Goecks had two hits to propel Brodhead over Parkview.
Brodhead junior Caitlin Novy and senior Michelle Loeffelholz each had one RBI in the Cardinals' three-run first inning.
Brodhead junior Azzy Steiner pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up one run on two hits, struck out four and walked one.
Juda-Albany 7, Black Hawk 3
JUDA - Senior Sara Jordan went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI to lead Juda-Albany past Black Hawk.
The game was scheduled to be played in South Wayne but was moved to Juda since Black Hawk's field was too wet.
"They gave up a home game and came here to play because they really wanted to get the game in," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "I really appreciate that. They (Black Hawk) played a solid game. They outhit us. We did a little bit of everything. We hit the long ball early and then we played a little small ball."
Black Hawk had seven hits, while Juda-Albany had five.
Jordan hit a two-run home run in the first inning off Black Hawk freshman pitcher Hannah Butler to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. Juda junior Sammi Detra hit a solo home run in the second to help the Panthers take a 3-1 lead. Juda-Albany (15-2, 10-1 Six Rivers East) broke the game open with a four-run sixth to take a 7-1 lead.
"In the sixth inning, we just played the bunt game, and they couldn't get an out," Davis said.
Juda-Albany senior Alexis Goecks went 2-for-4.
Juda-Albany junior Nicki Becker pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up three unearned runs on seven hits and struck out six.
Black Hawk junior Hannah Herbst and freshman Natalie Leuzinger each went 2-for-3.
Butler pitched a complete game and gave up three earned runs on five hits and walked seven.
