Moore drives Black Hawk

SOUTH WAYNE - Senior Brooke Moore had three of Black Hawk's 13 hits and the Warriors recorded a 10-0 six-inning win over Monticello on Tuesday.

Black Hawk (6-4, 4-3 Six Rivers East) had a four-run first inning to set the tone. The Warriors scored two more runs in the second to take a 6-0 lead.

Moore went 3-for-4 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored. Black Hawk junior Jordyn Delzer went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and senior Tatum Jackson was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Sophomore Hannah Herbst was 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

"Our bats are really coming alive," Black Hawk coach Jim Baumgartner said. "It's great to see the girls getting a big hit with runners in scoring position. Our baserunning has gotten a lot more aggressive, and our overall team speed is another weapon."

Black Hawk senior Rachel Ritschard pitched a complete game two-hit shutout. She struck out seven and walked two.

"Rachel Ritschard is doing a great job hitting her spots and getting ahead in the count," Baumgartner said. "Our infield has been spot on to help her."

Monticello junior pitcher Jessie Garrison pitched six innings and gave up seven earned runs on 13 hits. She struck out three and walked four.



Juda-Albany 9, Argyle 4

JUDA - Sophomore ace pitcher Nicki Becker tossed a two-hitter to lead Juda-Albany over Argyle.

Becker didn't give up an earned run, struck out 14 and walked just one.

"Her ball was moving pretty well," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "She got ahead of the hitters and kept them off-balance."

Davis was disappointed in the Panthers' breakdowns on defense which included three throwing errors to first base. Juda-Albany (9-4, 5-0 Six Rivers East) committed five errors.

"It was a focus thing," he said. "We were not really ready for the ball."

Juda-Albany senior Danielle Dieckhoff went 2-for-2. Junior Sayde McDermitt hit a two-run home run to center in the fourth inning to give the Panthers a 9-3 lead.

Argyle drops to 5-9, 3-4.

New Glarus 8 (9)

NEW GLARUS - Cambridge's Sierra Freeland went 3-for-6 with four RBI to lead the Blue Jays to a big win over New Glarus in nine innings.

Cambridge's Kati Korth, Natalie Granger and Veronica Wipperfurth each had three RBI to lead the Blue Jays' 17-hit attack.

New Glarus sophomore Riley Parker pitched 71⁄3 innings and gave up 11 earned runs on 15 hits. She walked five. Senior teammate Jessica Van Dusen pitched 12⁄3 innings and gave up two runs on two hits.

New Glarus junior Lydia Sprecher went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI. Junior Ashley Judd was 2-for-4 with three RBI, and junior Kelly Fredrickson added two RBI.
