Monona Grove shuts down Cheese

MONONA - The Monroe boys tennis team lost a dual match to Monona Grove 7-0 on Friday.

Monona Grove's Cole Lindwall at No. 1 singles defeated Monroe senior Silas Setterstrom 6-2, 6-1. The Silver Eagles' Caden Nelson at No. 2 singles defeated Monroe senior Nick Baumann 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Monona Grove's Max Nelson beat the Cheesemakers' Quinn Walsh 6-0, 6-0. The Silver Eagles' Ben Travis at No. 4 singles defeated Monroe's Nathan Smith 6-0, 6-0.

At No. 1 doubles, Monona Grove's Andrew Zhou and Jacob Munz knocked off Monroe seniors Ryan Peterson and Alex Tordoff 6-0, 6-0.

The Silver Eagles' No. 2 doubles team of Kevin Guenthner and Bennett Wessley beat the Cheesemakers' Kody Althaus and Jacob Kind 6-2, 6-1. At No. 3 doubles, Monona Grove's Noah Ehrlinger and Mattias Allen defeated Monroe's Ayden Bergemann and Landon Knobel 6-0, 6-0.
