MONROE - Home-course advantage wasn't enough for the Monroe High School golf team Monday.

Milton clipped the Cheesemakers by one shot 162-163 in the 9-hole dual at the Monroe Country Club.

Both Monroe junior Nick Baumann and Milton's A.J. Gray shot 3-over-par 39 to tie for medalist honors. Monroe senior Tanner Thompson shot a 41, and sophomore Collyn Wilde carded a 41. Monroe junior Devon Boeck shot a 42.

"It was a tough loss," Monroe coach Braden Rindy said. "One stroke just plays with your head sometimes. We had a decent score, but Milton just played really well."

Monroe will have a dual at Fort Atkinson today.
