Local quartet honored
Softball

MONROE — The Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association recently released its all-district and all-state selections. Brodhead and Juda-Albany had three players honored each.

Brodhead junior Ava Risum was named first-team all-district and all-state. She posted an 18-4 record in the circle with a 1.18 ERA. She struck out 217 batters in 125 innings pitched. At the plate, Risum hit .406 with a team-best 17 walks.

Sophia Leitzen earned first-team all-district and second-team all-state. She led Brodhead in multiple offensive categories, notably batting average (.540) and RBIs (30).

Jaelyn Hilliard was named all-district first-team.

Juda-Albany senior Alana Durtschi earned first-team all-district and second-team all-state. She hit .488 with 32 RBIs.

Avary Briggs garnered first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state. She posted a 13-6 record with a 1.76 ERA. At the plate, Briggs hit .457. 

Myah Johnson was named  honorable mention all-district.
