NG grad to coach Milwaukee GLHL team

Brandon Kane, a 2006 New Glarus High School graduate has been named the head coach of the Milwaukee Timberwolves, a new expansion team in the Great Lakes Hockey League beginning its inaugural season in 2026-2027.

The Timberwolves will play their home games at The Ponds of Brookfield in Brookfield. The Great Lakes Hockey League is an elite amateur senior men’s full-contact ice hockey league affiliate with USA Hockey. Players must be at least 18 years of age and most players have previous college, junior, or semi-pro hockey experience. The teams of the Great Lakes Hockey League are all based in Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Kane’s love of hockey began with his association with the Monroe Avalanche and he played collegiate hockey at UW-Platteville in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Timberwolves were recently approved as the Great Lakes Hockey League’s newest franchise.
