GrassWorks picnic and pasture walk in Belleville

BELLEVILLE — GrassWorks is hosting its annual picnic and pasture walk in Belleville on August 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The morning begins at Paris Family Dairy with a pasture walk highlighting dairy herd genetics, forage diversity, and composting for productive pastures. After the pasture walk, participants will gather at Exeter Park for a local lunch catered by Brix Cider. A short grazing presentation will cover watershed health and dairy co-op opportunities. The family-friendly day wraps up with an ice cream social, offering plenty of time for conversation and networking within the managed-grazing community.

Guest speakers for the day include Erik Harris of Clear View Regenerative Farms, Randy Zogbaum of DATCP, and JD Greenwalt of Westby Cooperative Creamery. This event is supported by Quality Liquid Feeds (QLF), Farmers of the Sugar River Watershed, Biological Farmer Friends of the Lower Yahara, and USDA/NRCS.
