The Division 2 Boys WBCA All-Star game was won by the White Team 113-100 on Thursday June 25 at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. The White Team was coached by Brian Bassett of Monroe and assisted by Josh Trame of Monroe.

Mekhi Brown and Logan Taylor of Monroe each scored 11 points for the White Team.

Bassett said he had his reasons to coach in the All-Star game. “I wanted to coach Mekhi and L.T. (Logan Taylor) one more time. That’s what I really wanted to do and just being around those other guys and when you talk about nine other guys along with our two leaders, every kid out there is a leader and it was so much fun. They’re a fun group and a respectable group. I’d do it again in a heartbeat,” Bassett said.

“It was really fun,” said Brown. “It’s fun to play with a bunch of guys just as good as me and even better than me. “We had a good week,” said Taylor. “Everyone was bonding very well. It’s fun to play with guys that all know basketball and everyone knows where to play on the floor,” Taylor said.

Joseph Daly of New London led the White team with 20 points.
