Barbara Baertschi, age 73, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Barb was born to Ray and Neva Hayter on December 27, 1952, and spent most of her life in the Evansville area where she was proud to be active in many local groups and activities. A lifelong caregiver, she dedicated nearly forty years of her life to helping others as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the majority being spent at Attic Angels. Outside of her career, Barb enjoyed playing cards, vacationing in Tomahawk and Branson, and bowling. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always down for a good time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Neva Hayter, and her sister and brother in law, Rachel and Bill Burwitz. Barb is survived by her nieces, Kalyn (Jeremy) Timmons and Kara (Shane) Schulte; her great-nephews, Christian Timmons, Nathaniel Timmons, Chase Schulte (Selena Sanchez), and Devan (Kayleigh) Schulte, her great-great-nephew, Lennox Schulte, Uncle Don (Karen) Filter, Aunt Mary Lou Filter along with many beloved cousins. A visitation will be held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel, Janesville on Friday July 24, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am with a funeral service following at 11:30.
