To the Editor:
As government-incentivized energy projects and data centers continue to expand, there needs to be a non-partisan effort to ensure that projects receiving federal and state funding include meaningful disclosure and requirements for community involvement, especially for rural areas of America that are under threat. Our message is straightforward: No community should wake up one day to discover that a decision affecting their farmland, water, infrastructure, property values, well-being, and future has been made without their real and legal opportunity to understand and participate in the process. Community members deserve a voice! We need laws and legal representation that ensure projects receiving federal and state support involve full disclosure and undergo community and environmental impact studies. It’s time to give a voice to the Americans who have been growing food for generations. Together, we must unite to protect nature and irreplaceable farmland
