Cheesemakers to hold championship recognition night
Monroe High School

MONROE — Monroe high school football has captured six state championships and will have a championship recognition night presented by the Monroe Booster Club and Monroe High School Athletic Department.

The Championship Recognition Night will be held on Friday, August 28 prior to the game against Oregon. It will be the Cheesemakers’ first game at their new football field, Badger State Ethanol Stadium. The Cheesemakers are re-joining the Badger Conference this season. This will be a non-conference game as Monroe will be in the Badger Small and Oregon is a member of the Badger Large.

There will be a short program at 6:30 p.m. prior to the game recognizing the state champion teams, and a post-game celebration will be held at Friendly Inn following the game.

“Anyone from any era is invited to come and celebrate our past success and the bright future ahead of us,” said Monroe Athletic Director Eric Jubeck.

Monroe won state football championships in 1986, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, and 2022. They were state runners-up in 1987, 1995 and 1996.

Teams from 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, and 2022 will be honored.

Fundraiser merchandise can be purchased through a post from the Monroe Booster Club on Facebook or go to Heartland Graphics in Monroe.
