New Glarus Forum Brings Candidates in Front of the Voters

Democratic candidates for Wisconsin’s 17th Senate District met for a public forum on Wednesday, June 11 at New Glarus High School. Corrine Hendrickson (New Glarus, top right), Lisa White (Potosi, bottom right) and Rep. Jenna Jacobson (Oregon) are running against Republican incumbent Howard Marklein (Spring Green). The candidates spoke about their “hopes and dreams” for the future, including finding new ways to fund public schools, bringing jobs to the region to support housing, halting the expansion of data centers to the region, term limits for all areas of government, and independent redistricting. The primary for the fall election is August 17, with the general election against Marklein November 3.
