JANESVILLE - The Fury played a tremendous game in front of a full house Tuesday in the Pink the Rink cancer awareness game against the Arrowhead Warhawks and won 4-0.
Both teams came out fighting. The Fury scored on a short-handed goal near the end of the first period on a goal by Maggy Henschler, who was assisted by Ally Burke.
With equally aggressive play in the second period, the Fury put up two more goals from Kaitlynn Beyer and Dani Heitsman (power play) with assists from Sam Wells and Burke.
The Fury continued to make great plays and passes throughout the entire game. Heitsman, on a pass from Henschler, scored the final goal short-handed.
The Fury also outshot the Warhawks 33-8.
The fans who came out in support of the Pink the Rink night included the Janesville Parker Pep Band. Those who participated by buying raffle tickets and cookies helped support the Beloit Cancer Center.
The Fury (16-2-2, 8-0 Badger Conference) will next take on Metro Lynx (5-10-0, 3-3) at Madison Ice Arena on Jan. 25. There are just four games left in the regular season, with the final home game being Feb. 10 against Appleton United in Janesville.
