HOLLANDALE - The Monroe Brewers opened the Home Talent League season Sunday by beating Hollandale 9-4.

Justin Hahn pitched a complete game and gave up just two earned runs on seven hits. He struck out 11 and walked three.

Rooney Janecke, who was 2-for-3 at the plate, led the Brewers offensively.

The Brewers trailed Hollandale 4-3 entering the seventh inning. Hahn picked up an RBI after being walked with the bases loaded. The big blow to Hollandale came on Janecke's two-run single. A third run scored on the play after a wild throw to give the Brewers a 7-4 lead.

"It was a good win for us," Brewers co-player manager Lon Scheuerell said.

Hollandale jumped out to an early lead, but Adam Scherer hit a solo home run to tie the game at 2 in the fifth.

Adam Siegenthaler, a Monroe High School graduate, had an RBI double in the sixth to slice the Rockies' lead to 4-3.

Ryan Clerkin went 3-for-5 to lead the Rockies.

Hollandale's Scott Norton pitched six innings and gave up three runs on five hits. He struck out four and didn't walk any one.
