ORFORDVILLE - The Brodhead High School girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to cruise to a 67-37 win over Parkview Friday night.

Brodhead senior Kylie Moe scored a game-high 23 points, and sophomore Erin Nyhus added 17 points. Brodhead's Morgan Cook chipped in 10 points.

"I thought we came out and did a nice job defensively," Brodhead coach Brian Kammerer said. "What we didn't do well was boxing out. We gave up too many second-chance opportunities."

Brodhead improves to 12-2, 8-1 Rock Valley South.

"What is nice about this year is we have four girls who can score in double figures," Kammerer said. "When you do that teams can't focus on Kylie, Amber (Pickel) or Erin Nyhus."

Juda 43, Pecatonica 16

JUDA - Junior Chelsea Burkhalter scored 20 points to power the Panthers to a victory over the Vikings.

Burkhalter had seven points in the first half to help Juda build a 20-12 advantage and then had 13 points in the second half when Juda outscored Pecatonica 23-14.

Burkhalter hit three 3-pointers and made 5 of 7 free-throw attempts.

MacKenzie Byrne added nine points for Juda.

Liz Tisch led Pecatonica with six points.

Stockton (Ill.) 40, Black Hawk 24

STOCKTON - Stockton's Kara Wright scored 10 points and eclipsed the career 1,000-point milestone as the Blackhawks hit seven

3-pointers and rolled over Black Hawk.

Stockton (17-4) raced out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter. The Blackhawks played a

1-3-1 zone that slowed the Warriors.

"They have great size and with that 1-3-1 zone we didn't get much going offensively," Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said.

"It's hard to contend with that when they have a good post player inside," Flanagan said. "They shot the ball as well as any team we have played this year."

Black Hawk junior Sam Lovelace scored a game-high 12 points, and senior Aleigha Sigafus chipped in seven points.

Darlington 41, Fennimore 25

DARLINGTON - The Redbirds trailed 15-9 at halftime but outscored the Golden Eagles 32-10 in the second half to capture the win.

Junior Taryn Rankin paced Darlington with 12 points.

Taylor Jacobson added nine points, and sophomores Kennedy Rankin and Emma Crist each added seven points.
