Robert "Bob" Heissner was born October 14, 1937 and fell asleep in death on August 12, 2023. Bob met the love of his life, Gail Heuer, in 1958 on her grandfather's farm in Orfordville, WI. They married January 10, 1959, spending 65 years united. Bob and Gail had 4 children; Theresa Wetherwax of Albany, WI, Mark and Tammy Heissner of Evansville, WI, Sheb and Renee Heissner of New London, WI and Cheryl Northcutt of Albany, WI. He also loved and was loved by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bob worked at GM in Janesville, WI for 37 years, famously never missing a day. Bob and Gail purchased their pine island paradise in 1965 on Hwy 14 in Evansville. There, many generations of family and friends shared love and laughter. If you happened to drive by, you were almost sure to see Bob on a tractor, lawn mower or walking briskly with a chainsaw or shovel in hand. Bob loved hunting and fishing with his boys, a spirited game of Euchre, hand delivering gifts to all the special gals in his life and travels on their motorcycle with family and friends but especially his daily rides and adventures with Gail. He had a great love and care for all his animals through the years. Bob was a man of faith as he was a baptized minister in the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Evansville, WI. He considered those friends his second family. Bob had a quick step when it came to giving, whether it was a load of wood, a bag from goodwill or a hug and friendly smile. Bob made everyone feel like family. Your work here is done for now 'Pops', until we say "Hello" again! A private family service was held on August 19th, with burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville. A Memorial Service will be held at a future pending date. Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home, Evansville, is assisting the family. For online condolences please visit www.wardhurtley.com
