Phyllis M. McLoud, age 66, of Monroe, died at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 after a five year battle with colorectal cancer. Phyllis was born on November 5, 1957 in Chicago, the daughter of Ronald and Lillian (Romag) Sugg. She married Robert M. McLoud, Sr. in 1982. Phyllis worked for 19 years at the Swiss Colony Bakery and seasonally at Holverson Meat Processing in South Wayne. Most recently she was employed at RFS Cheese in Monroe. She enjoyed collecting dolphins and coca cola memorabilia, dancing, and was a Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Dallas Cowboys fan. She participated in bowling and pool leagues for several years.
Phyllis is survived by four sons, Jessie “Phil” (Rhonda) Johns, Bobby (Jennifer) McLoud, Richard (Lis) McLoud, Steven (Heather) McLoud; daughter-in-law, Tina (Donnie) Lepper; niece, Dannielle (Donovan) Smith; sister, Mary Ann Houseweart, all of Monroe. She is further survived by grandchildren, Makensie, Tyler, Natalie, Blake, Bradyn, Landen, Leah, Aaliyah, Raegan, Matthew; and the father of her children, Robert M. McLoud, Sr. of South Wayne; and special friends, Jodi, Jackie, and Annette. She was preceded in death by her son, Heath “Joey” Johns; father and mother-in-law, Merle and Florence McLoud; sister-in-law, Melody Von Allmen; and brother-in-law, Ron Houseweart.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at The Monroe Bible Church with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested in Phyllis’s name to the Monroe Bible Church. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
