Margaret Louise (Dunn) Marty passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Manor Care in Platteville, WI. Private family services were held at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Deacon Bill Bussan was the officiant. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. In keeping in respect to her personal wishes, No flowers please.

Louise was born on February 22, 1928, daughter of John Thomas Dunn and Bessie Eunice (Crain) Dun in Greenville, South Carolina. She was married on May 19, 1945 to Walter Fredrick Marty at the Greenville, South Carolina Army Air Base. They had two daughters and later divorced. Most of her adult life was spent in Monroe, WI and she moved to Platteville, WI in 1999.

Louise worked for 40 years and retired at Swiss Colony in Monroe, WI. She also worked at Burgess Battery, St. Clare Hospital, Frito Lay, and Macro Switch. She was a member of the B’nai Abraham Synagogue in Beloit, WI, Hadassah and Sisterhood, St. Clare Hospital Auxiliary, Easter Seals, United Way, and MAAC, where she chaired Thanksgiving dinners for 12 years. She also was active in her daughters’ school programs, and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.

Louise celebrated her 90th birthday this year with her family and friends whom she cherished and was known best for her beautifully crocheted afghans and doilies.

She was preceded in death by her father, John T. Dunn, a World War veteran; mother, Bessie E. (Crain) Dunn; brother, John Jr. (Antoinette “Toni”) Dunn, a WWII veteran; sister, Phyllis (Watts) Hooper; nephew and niece, Bobby Hooper and Wanda (Billy) Green.

Louise is survived by her two daughters: Jacqueline Louise (Wayne) Dieter, Platteville, WI, and Jeanette Eline (Gene) Hasse, Monroe, WI; eight grandchildren Antonia “Toni” (Douglas) Rucker, Platteville, WI, Kelle (Bill) Calvert, Cuba City, WI., Aric (Crystal) Dieter, Edgerton, WI, Phillip (Brent Landrum) Dieter, Sun Prairie, WI, Ryan Dieter, Platteville, WI, Todd (Kris) Hasse, Monroe, WI, Traci (Craig) Westfall, Hartford, WI, and Travis Hasse, Madison, WI; seventeen great-grandchildren: Emily and Hanna Reuter, Madison, McKenzie, and Payton Calvert, Adylin and Averly Dieter, Lily Mathew, Trent, Trinity, Travian, and Trista Rucker, Mitchell, and Trevor Hasse, Trent, Tyler, and Troy Westfall. She is also survived by her extended family, Nicki Holman one sister: Patsy (Watts) Hooper and her children Kenny (Kathy) Hooper, Sheila (Bobby) Elwell, and Debbie (Doug) Pack all of South Carolina.
