Jinnine Emily Villacrez

Jinnine Emily Villacrez, age 77, of Monroe passed away on May 18, 2019 at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1941, the daughter of Emil and Lillian (Mingo) Falt in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. Jinnine was united in marriage to Dr. José Alexander Villacrez on July 27, 1959. She was a longtime member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor’s Catholic Church.

Jinnine loved life, people, and entertaining. She was a gracious hostess who enjoyed preparing international cuisine and sharing cultural traditions with her neighbors and friends. Jinnine was a loving wife and mother who actively supported her children and grandchildren’s academic and sporting activities throughout the years. She was a beloved friend and “Nana” to many. Jinnine owned and operated two clothing boutiques – Gina-Mia and The Clothes Line – in downtown Monroe. She also enjoyed collecting everything from seashells and unique antiques to fine European Christmas ornaments, many of which were available for sale at her booth in the antique mall. Her creative spirit and flare for beauty was evident in her florist work and her beautifully decorated home.  Jinnine’s house was always full for the holidays with family and friends. She turned every holiday into a magical place with her traditional dishes, Christmas collections, and beautiful Christmas tree. She enjoyed spending time in her gardens and feeding the birds and wildlife.

Jinnine is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Dr. José Alexander Villacrez of Monroe; her children, Joseph Alexander (Jodi) Villacrez of Tomah, Victor Eric Villacrez of Madison, Steven Gregory (Vicki) Villacrez of Lodi, and Vanessa Christine (Tom) Doescher of Verona; grandchildren, Devin (Erika) Villacrez of Green Bay, Erin Lee Villacrez of Chicago, IL, Joseph Alexander Villacrez III of Biloxi, MS, Steven Garrott Villacrez of Loves Park, IL, Jacqueline Marie Villacrez of Middleton, Dillon Alexander Villacrez of Milwaukee, and Francesca Carmen Villacrez of Ames, IA.
