Jeanette J Kopp age ninety-one, born on the farm on county road C between Monroe and Monticello to Herman and Marie Schupbach June 16, 1934. With four in her class, she attended Loveland County one room country school, many times accompanied by her pet sheep. Then attending Monroe High school. Later on, meeting Edward J Kopp on a blind date which led to marriage at Zwingle Church Monticello August 25,1951. After Eddie completed his duty with The United Staes AirForce Eddie and Jeanette resided in Monroe on ninth street and later building a new home out in the countryside on Iliff Rd. Married forty-nine years until Ed’s death in 2000.
Two children Larry and Mary. Jeanette worked and enjoyed many years at Swiss Colony and Oaktron Industries. A member of St John’s United church of Christ in Monroe, and also Evansville Congregational United Church of Christ Evansville WI. Jeanette’s priority was always her family, every holiday a very special occasion with her favorite being Christmas. Her passions included flower and vegetable gardening, her photo albums of family and friends, playing cards especially Euchre, needlework, a collector of music, and the love of dancing. And a huge fan of Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Gary) Barlow of Tucson, Arizona; and nieces and nephew. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward (Eddie) Kopp; son, Larry E. Kopp, two sisters; Rose (Bernard) Peterson, and LouAnn Hanson; nephews; and her dance partner of fifteen years, George Kretsinger.
A memorial/celebration of Jeanette’s beautiful life will be held at St John’s United Church of Christ Monroe Wi. With Pastor Christina Schoenwetter on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Luncheon will be held after the service at St John’s Church.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the Church. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. A private burial service will be held at Jordan Lutheran Church of Browntown.
The family would like to thank her friends at St John’s Garden Apartments, The Oncology team SSM Monroe, and the wonderful and compassionate staff at Hospice Home Monroe.
