Francis Lee Alt, age 62, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home.  He was born the son of Merlin and Louise (Birkett) Alt.  Francis graduated from Benton High School in 1980, he later attended Blackhawk Tech for supervisor management.  He married the love of his life, Donna M. Heim on August 16, 1980 in Cuba City. 

Francis worked at Advance Transformer for eighteen years, Hypro in Platteville for five years, and Oscar Mayer for twelve years.  He currently worked as a store room coordinator for the maintenance department at Grande Cheese for the last seven years.  Francis was an avid Cubs and Packers fan.  He enjoyed the company of his kitties, Lilly and Charlie.  He enjoyed traveling and cherished spending time with   his children and grandchildren. 

Francis is survived by his wife, Donna of Monroe; mother, Louise Alt of Benton; children, Jonathon (Tiffany) Alt of Rock City, IL and Jeffrey (Desiré) Alt of Monroe; grandchildren, Lydia Alt, Kaylee Alt, and Alexzander Alt; brother, Glen (Joyce) Alt of Barre, MA; sister-in-law, Pam Alt of New Diggings; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Ronald Alt; and niece, Elizabeth Alt.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home of Monroe.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to shriner111.com.
